FAQs

  • For up to 48 hours after treatment, your skin will be more sensitive. It is important to be extra careful during this time and avoid irritant exposure. If you take good care of yourself; rest, sleep well and avoid irritants, you should not experience any redness or inflammation.

You can experience increased flaking, which is a good sign of healing. The treatment stimulates healthy skin cell proliferation which results in flaking. Try to keep the flakes on the skin and don’t rub them off. Rubbing them off can wound your skin, whilst keeping them on can give your sensitive skin an extra layer of protection. Eventually as your skin heals, your flakes will become smaller and reduce until your skin is smooth again.

Lastly, because CAP boosts your cell function, your body starts to work harder at repairing your skin after treatment. Therefore, you can feel more tired than usual. We advise you to slow down your pace in the days after treatment, rest and eat well.

  • It is advised to wait to at least 2 months after ceasing steroid usage before starting CAP treatment. It is preferred to wait 4-6 months.

If you are using immunosuppressants you are advised to stop at least 1 month before starting your CAP treatment in Bali.

  • For those struggling with TSW / RSS, CAP treatment can commence after 2 months of ceasing steroid use and 1 months after ceasing immunosuppressants.

Unfortunately, pregnant women and those with pacemakers and/or other electrical implants, cannot receive treatment.

  • Whilst patients should cease all use of moisturisers during CAP treatment, we do not recommend NMT* because we encourage our patients to shower at least once a day to avoid infections. CAP treatment can also be used in combination with CJay Serum, a light serum that supports skin healing.

*NMT stands for No Moisture Treatment, a healing method used under strict medical supervision where the use of moisturisers is restricted as well as limited showering and reduced liquid intake.

  • No, this is not possible. The CAP device has a magnetic field. For pregnant women and people with a pacemaker, CAP treatment is not possible.

  • No, it does not. Although CAP does help to clear eczema, the effect is only temporarily as CAP targets skin healing rather than eradicating the root cause of eczema.

Meanwhile CAP does effectively treat TSW / RSS by supporting the healing rate of steroid damaged skin and increasing skin thickness.

  • We can treat children depending on their compliance. However, it is important to note that the success rate of treating children is lower than the success rate of treating adults.

This is because children may not be able to refrain from scratching and struggle to handle the increased sensitivity from CAP. Some children can also be scared of the sound of the machine during treatment. Whilst the treatment is usually pain-free, if the child has any weeping or oozing skin, they may not be able to handle zap sensation from treatment on wet areas.

  • Yes, absolutely. We can treat your scalp, but the duration will be case dependent. The longer or curlier your hair, the longer it takes to complete CAP treatment on your scalp.

To make sure our therapist can access the scalp easily, it’s recommended to leave your hair unbraided. Some patients even choose to cut or shave their hair for better results.

  • No, there are no long term side-effects of CAP treatment.
