What is CAP?
Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) technology is a form of electromagnetic wave therapy harnessing ionised gas, and is commonly used in the treatment of chronic wounds. While CAP technology exists in many forms, the machines we use have been manufactured specifically to treat Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW) / Red Skin Syndrome, administering CAP to your skin via a non-invasive wand. Cold Atmospheric Plasma can be harnessed for a variety of purposes, so not all CAP machines are the same. The very first BioPlasma CAP machines were successfully produced for healing chronic diabetic wounds. After discovering patients with topical steroid damage and thinned skin, the team got to work on designing new CAP machines to target skin healing. Now our 9th generation of BioPlasma CAP machines are specifically calibrated to regenerate severely damaged skin and can help regain skin thickness.
